Mastered Project, Unity C#

In this project I wanted to expand my knowledge of VR and Networking. I created a VR chatroom using the PUN2 Networking capabilities, and used Unity's VR features to help create the environment.

Intro

For my project with Mastered I wanted to explore areas of development that were popular and that used upcoming technologies. Combining these two ideas into one project brought me to VR Networking. I wanted to create a project that evoked a typical VR chatroom feel.

Skills

To start the development process I started with learning how to develop for VR with Unity. Using a personal Oculus headset I started on a Unity Learn course. This helped me get up to speed with VR quickly, and introduced me to the core fundamentals of developing for VR. After this I needed to look into how to create a multiplayer experience, to do this I researched a good third party software to use called PUN2 as made by the team at Photon, please see their website here: https://www.photonengine.com/. From here I used the Photon engine and their voice engine combined with Unity's VR features to create a VR chatroom.
To help create the map for the project I used Townscaper (townscapergame.com).
